Couples and marriage counseling provides a safe space to explore and resolve relationship issues. What is couples counseling like?
The therapists at Lakefront utilize a variety of methods to help couples identify pertinent issues and resolve them, while promoting the healthy growth of each individual and the couple as a team. Our clinicians are trained in the leading couples therapy including Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and through the Gottman Institute. What is intensive couples therapy? How long are the sessions?
Most sessions are 60 minutes. However, we also offer two hour or half day couples sessions for those couples who need more intensive work to learn and employ the powerful, evidence-based Gottman Method and Emotionally Focused Couple’s Therapy. These personalized approaches provides a skill base to jumpstart couples work.
You will learn and use effective tools which will leave you with a much better understanding of each other and the strategies necessary to not only get your relationship back on track, but also grow, heal and create a more fulfilling partnership. Whether you’ve become distant and aloof, stopped caring, have little to say to each other or had experiences which leave you angry and hurt, our two hour or half day intensives may be just what your relationship needs!
